Emotional Game Jam
The competition Emotional Game Jam is open to all participants, whether they are students, professionals and non-professionals. The minimum age for participants is 18 years.
Teams are limited to 4 people. Some teams are grouped on the site of the UCO L3Di University Laval, but teams that can not integrate this site can participate online to the Game Jam anywhere in the world.
All game engines are accepted as long as their rights were acquired legally.
It can not be used of 3D or 2D props designed before the start of the game jam.
The main theme of emotional Game Jam will be unveiled early in the Game Jam, and several secondary themes will be distributed on the website and on the EmotionalGameAwards/tv during the competition. Each team must submit its WIPs every two hours on the Game Jam forum.
Competition starts on Wednesday 10 February 7.00 pm CET (GMT+1) , and finishes on Friday 12 February 11.00 am CET (GMT+1).

What is the Emotional Game Jam?
The goal is to come together and make a video game, in which emotions play a essential role.
When is the Emotional Game Jam?
The Emotional Game Jam starts on wednesday 10th february 2016 and is 40 hour long. It starts at 7 pm CET (GMT+1)
Where the Emotional Game Jam will take place?
The EGJ takes place in L3di University (part of UCO Laval), 25 rue du Mans, 53000 Laval. But teams that can not integrate this site can participate online to the Game Jam anywhere in the world.
Who is organizing?
The EGJ is organized by L3di UCO University.
When do I need to register?
You have to register via the www.emotionalgamesawards.com The deadline is Sunday, February 7th. But please note that on site, there are limited places. So, the registration for the Game Jam on site will close when no more place will be available. You will still have the possibility to participate to the game jam from another place (home, your university, etc…)
Why do I need a skype address?
You will need a skype address if you’re not on the site in Laval. Your skype address wil allow you to be in touch with the organization team.
Do I need a team?
Teams should consist of no more than 4 members. You can participate on your own (although collaboration is more fun !). But please note that you will not have the opportunity to find teammates at the game jam. Teams should be constituted before registration on the website www.emotionalgamesawards.com
Is the Jam only for students?

What are the absolute requirements?
You can develop using any tools for any platform that you want. All game engines are accepted as long as their rights were acquired legally.
May I come with already developed assets or props?
No. It can not be used of 3D or 2D props designed before the start of the game jam.
What is the typical day to day schedule for the Emotional Game Jam?
Wednesday -5 pm: Jammers show up at the venue, sign-in, and check they can connect to Wi-fi. -7 pm : Game jam starts. A majo theme is unveiled. Several secondary themes will be distributed on the website and on the EmotionalGameAwards/tv during the competition. Each team must submit its WIPs every two hours on the Game Jam forum (address will be given in a few days). Thursday : Work Friday : -11am : development stops! Each team must upload their .EXE on the EGJ servers. A short abstract in a text file is needed too, as if possible In Game pictures or Video game Trailer.
What are the prizes?
The jury (same as the Emotional Games Awards Jury) will give 3 prizes :
-Best emotional jam game
-Best emotional artistic jam game achievement
-Best emotional jam game design
Rewards will be given by UCO L3Di Jam Jury.
What should I bring?
Pens, pencils, markers, post-its, notepads A powerbar/extension cord –(really important because we cannot provide equipment) Any equipment you may require, depending on your speciality (laptop, tablet, speakers, microphone, because... we cannot provide equipment) A computer Ethernet cable, if you have one. Snacks : we can supply you with coffee for free in the morning. Regarding food we can supply you with hot meals in the evening and cold at noon for 15 €/p). But if you want chocolate or more, bring your own ! A sleeping bag/pillow : a quiet room will be at disposal if you want to make a nap… Please note that there are no showers on site. Wireless is available and free, but sometimes the high loads can have unpredictable results.
